Retreats

Our Retreats offer help and support to people over the age of 18 who are struggling in areas like depression, anxiety, lack of self-esteem, mild self-harm, relationship difficulties, family issues, substance abuse issues, negative life patterns, anger management, attention issues and mild eating disorders. Together with the staff, each client will develop an individualized treatment plan, outlining their goals and identifying interventions that will help the client achieve those goals.
Based on their treatment plan, clients will be assigned a variety of written and experiential work every week. Each client will participate in two individual EAP sessions a week (45 minutes each), one or two group EAP sessions, and daily group discussions. Clients will be asked to journal every day and complete a variety of written assignments.
In addition, clients can choose to spend several hours a day working with, taking care of, and riding horses. Oftentimes, it is the relationship with one of those amazing animals that allows our clients to experience significant growth and healing.
“There is nothing so good for the inside of a man as the outside of a horse. ” (Ronald Reagan)
Each client’s treatment is overseen by a licensed masters level therapist. Qualified Staff may be available as well to teach new skills, assist with individual work, and facilitate group sessions. Therapists and other staff work together on implementing each client’s treatment plan and closely monitor each client’s progress.
Clients are encouraged to involve important people in their lives in their treatment as well. Family work is an important part of the program, as we realize life problems involve not only the individual, but their families as well. Clients are encouraged to write letters to loved ones. The therapist may facilitate phone calls to support people in the client’s life as well. Adult clients participate in our program on their own volition and retain all their individual rights. They may choose to leave the program at any time at their own risk.
